Research and Analysis

I am a research analyst, primarily focused on the worldwide interactive TV market, including Internet video, OTT video, and IPTV. TV is changing in very exciting ways and I am very glad that I get to be a part of it

Currently, I am working for Multimedia Research Group, a business intelligence company based in San Jose, California. As an IPTV Analyst, I follow the entire IPTV industry, speaking with technology companies, vendors and Service Providers from all over the world.

I write four IPTV research reports every year. In the Spring, I write the IPTV Market Leader Report (MLR), which tracks the vendor market for IPTV. After that, I do the IPTV Global Forecast (GF), which forecasts the next five years for IPTV, including number of global subscribers, overall broadband growth, and total revenue for the IPTV industry.

In the fall, I do an update of the MLR and GF reports in order to stay on top of all the exciting developments in the field.

Here is the latest release on the Fall 2009 IPTV Market Leaders Report released in October 2009. The newFall 2009 Global Forecast report is coming out soon.

In addition, I also write a few other reports during the year. In February 2008, I wrote the “IPTV Home Networking Strategies” report for MRG. This focused on understanding what the average home installation times were for IPTV deployments around the world, as well as other strategies for Service Providers.

I use a variety of research methods, from primary research (which involves speaking with a wide variety of experts and vendors), polls and surveys and secondary research.

Check my blog to see the latest report I’m working on.
