Are you totally happy with your Tivo? One blogger, Dharmesh Shah, wrote some suggestions on how to improve the Tivo Series 3 DVR and it has some pretty dang good ideas. Most of them have to do with the Tivo user interface. Although Shah says he doesn't expect Tivo to read his blog or follow his suggestions, I'm propagating them because I think they're cool. And I hope someone at Tivo does read this. His suggestions:

1. Create Season Pass from Tivo Suggestion: I agree with this. Many times I see a show I like but there's no way to record future shows. You have to go back into another menu and search for a show. Or go on the Web and program a recording. My old Replay had an option to record and look for future shows.
2. Having New Icons Which Show Ratings of Tivo Suggestions. This is a great one and I didn't think of this. Yes, all icons are the same in that menu so why not have a useful icon?
3. Add “Play From Beginning” Option: Yes! Please! Tivo, please add this. Also, my suggestion: having the option of rewinding a show once you've reached the end would be great. Sometimes I miss something at the end and then I have to start from the beginning and fast forward all the way to the end.
4. Don't Automatically Exit the Tivo Central Page. Yes to this one too. I hate pausing a show, or going to the Tivo Central menu, then having Tivo go "live" to TV again after a few minutes.
5. Provide Wrap Around in Menus. Well, he specifically says that Tivo should let you wrap-around the text fields when you search for a new show, for example. But I think Tivo should do this in every menu.
6. When Deleting A Show, Allow Up/Down Voting. I like this one. But I hardly ever use the Up and Down Voting.
7. Space Use. He wants to know how much space is being used by your own recordings as well as Tivo's suggestions. That's a good idea. Being able to throttle the suggestions higher or lower can help with space management, especially with Tivo Series 3 since they have less hard drive storage.
